What is Asuransi Usaha Tani Padi (AUTP)?

In Indonesia, the government-subsidized agricultural insurance program is called Rice Farming Business Insurance (AUTP) which is managed by PT Asuransi Jasa Indonesia (Jasindo), which is a state-owned company. AUTP products are classified as the Named Peril Crop Insurance Product (NPCI) product type.  The protection guarantee provided is in the form of fixed compensation of Rp. 6 million per hectare. Compensation for crop losses is carried out if the damage exceeds 75% of the rice plants planted on the insured agricultural land.
The loss assessment was carried out by the agriculture department and Jasindo. Subsidy
The premium provided by the central government is 80%. This insurance protects farmers from the risk of crop failure caused by climate change such as floods, drought, pest attacks and diseases/plant pests (OPT).

A loss adjuster is a professional hired by an insurance company or policyholder to assess and manage insurance claims. Their role is to evaluate the extent of damage, investigate the cause of the loss, and determine the fair compensation under the insurance policy.
You should consider hiring a loss adjuster when you experience a significant loss, such as property damage due to a fire, flood, or theft, and need professional assistance to ensure your claim is handled fairly and efficiently.
A loss adjuster is typically an independent professional who assesses claims impartially, while an insurance claims adjuster works directly for the insurance company and represents their interests. Some loss adjusters, called public adjusters, work exclusively for policyholders.
The main responsibilities of a loss adjuster include:

1. Inspecting and evaluating the damage.
2. Investigating the cause of the loss.
3. Reviewing policy details to determine coverage.
4. Negotiating settlements between the insurer and the insured.
5. Providing detailed reports and recommendations.
A loss adjuster can benefit policyholders by ensuring they receive a fair settlement, reducing the stress of managing a claim, interpreting complex insurance policies, and advocating for the insured's interests in disputes with insurers.
The cost of a loss adjuster varies depending on the complexity of the claim and their level of involvement. Public adjusters often charge a percentage of the claim payout, typically ranging from 5% to 15%. However, the potential benefits of securing a fair settlement can outweigh the costs.
